Gynaecomastia ...
Asked by anonymous
CAN ANYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY GIVE ME THE ADDRESSES IN BANGALORE WHERE THEY DO TREAT MALE BREAST'S
I'M 21yrs OLD AND HAVE MALE BREATS FROM PAST 6-7yrs/
Samip answers
you need to go to your general physician..
he'll decide and refer u to a endocrinologis or a surgeon..
they will decide if the excess tissue is fat or breast tissue.
mildly enlarged breast tissue is common in puberty and lasts for a few years. as you are just 21 you need not worry too much about the medical part of problem. do provde more information for further guidance.
thanks
If somebody knows about Gynaecomastia regarding where they perform and is insurance available then do help him by clicking on "Gynaecomastia" and answering in that thread

Erythroblastosis fetalis
A question by anonymous
I would like to know if there is a need to check the blood group of ur prospective life partner.
I have heard that if a woman has a Rh - blood group and her husband has Rh + blood group, their child will have RH + blood group and when the child is in the mothers womb, it would be like a foreign body in her mothers body and his blood can mix with her blood. This could cause problems during pregnancy.
In my case, my blood group is B Rh + whereas the blood group of a girl who can be prospective partner is AB-.
Is there a medical reason why it would not be advisable for us to marry. Is there any treatment for this problem.
Thanks
Erythroblastosis fetalis also known as Rh incompatibility
is an autoimmune condition characterised by development of antibodies against red blood cells in the second pregnancy after the first pregnancy is sensitised by passing of Rh positive blood through the placenta and antibodies develop....These antibodies attack the red blood cells of second fetus when they are in womb itself causing severe hemolytic reaction .....Can be of different clinical presentations like kernicterus ,hydrops fetalis .....The below photo is one such caes

If you click on the link above it takes you to the BMI thread
Anon had asked
Hi, I 27 years, Male. I am having a good health and a very good stamina. I can walk 5 or 6 kms at a stretch or climb up & down even 200 steps in a matter of 5 minutes.
The real problem is my BMI is only 15. For my age and ht (5.7), people say it should be atleast 20.
I eat normally, work out in the gym (atleast 4 or 5 days a week), still not able to develop my structure.
People looking me for the first time, tend to believe i am jus 20.
What should i do? I am a strict vegetarian

Answered by Sujatha Karanth
See a good homeopath ... your symptoms are typical of a chronic circulatory weakness. The tiny, capillary blood vessels around your scalp aren't happy in a sedentary lifestyle.:)
There are good medicines like Pulsatilla (the doc will do dosage) that will remove the pains around your neck and tension in the throat, and relieve the headache. It needs to be supported by a few other symptomatic remedies for comfort.
Hope that helps.
Pulsatilla is good for palpitation, resp. anxiety as well. Especially for people who have a mood-shift, evenings at the dining table, and about 3 days before it rains (the barometric pressure drops affecting the tonsils). Most people develop your condition from too much exposure - riding, etc. make sure you're muffled up in the wind.
Go with the slow cure ... don't push the homeopath into going fast. It takes a years to develop and years to get rid of. (But mention that you read this suggestion, in case he's not thought of it:-).

Ganglion
Asked by Shailendra
A ganglion is developed on my left hand some yrs back just at the joint of palm with hand over the main blood vein.
I got it operated which went successful but it again got developed only after 1 month.
I have heard that homeopathy is more effective in this case.
Any suggestions.
Reply by Siddhartha sahu
if it has been proved beyond doubt it is a ganglion and nothing else it is harmless and can be safely left alone.there r many ways of treating it like using enzymes, steroids(works in many people),and ofcourse surgery(recurences r rare when done by an experienced surgeon)
Reply by anonymous
Homeopathy is great with all growths ... if you're near a homeopath, say someone suggested Thuja. But don't self-medicate or use ointments -find a good homeopath- since I've seen the cure can be spectacular if done well, with a caring doc (rather than sloppy attempts with too high potencies or too low as application-type extracts).
(Don't go in for more surgeries either until you are sure the problem isn't all over the body, growing quietly, as you worry about your hand!)

another question from my hospital
The post..
well i am new to this forum and since many friends asked questions here id like to raise one...
how can one distinguish a heart problem from others?
my family history is of high bp n even my bp keeps on fluctuating..
i have pain in chest and wen im depressed it rises, n sumtimes to n unbearable state..!
i have been living in constant depression for years now and i am very sure i need psychological help as soon as possible...i always imagine myself on death bed and cant help it.
this pain has been constant and specially wen im depressed i get this pain towards the left of my chest.
kindly comment.
My reply
Dear anonymous....
Dont worry about your heart problems....
Just having a high BP is not enough to cause a heart problem....There are many other risk factors like smoking,diet....
But you need to be a little cautious because there is a family history....
About your pain in the chest it is mostly due to psychological problems..Consult a psychologist for that....
In heart problems there will be symptoms of breathlessness, chest pain(anginal pain),palpitations...
Anon reply
Nimhans offers free psychological help. I even hear it's very good from a friend who has been going there for years. (Freudian Psychology is not curative, but an aid to survival).
Treat the depression, friend, you'll learn to live _with_ your fear of death, like all of us!
Anon,
You are having 'panic attacks'.
Everyone has a fear of living, look at the angry, defensive faces around you, you'll slowly see it's only fear.
Take life in 'Baby Steps', focus on one thing at a time and do it with deep breaths.
You can see a movie on it too, by the same name - it's about someone like you who was afraid to step out of his house (Like Doyle, I'm guessing you may be a woman, since in India, it's more common to women from too much protection to sudden external rudeness).
A homeopath will give you a med called Ignatia to help you control your emotions. Do see one and suggest it for dosage

Another question?...Any replies...?
The post...
i.Heart valves are opened up with laser these days.If someone's heart arteries are blocked by chlestrol ,can they be opened by laser also?Is this treatment available in Lahore or Islamabad,in Pakistan?
Can all the arteries of whole body become stiff with prolong blood pressure?
What if arteries of other parts of the body are also blocked with cholestrol?
Advise needed urgently please!
non-doc reply
Surgery has its limits ... and veins and valves do get weak/calcified all over with prolonged, chronic illness but I'll let a doc get your primary questions.(They'll be on tomorrow morning)
I'd ask:
-Is the person allergic to many things as well?
- Are the liver and kidneys functioning to eliminate waste?
If the person's condition is stable, and is in a stress-free environment couldn't the person try to slowly rebuild his body with diet and exercise instead of taking a risk with surgery?
Lime instead of salt, Olive oil, raw foods sun-dried, leafy green salads ... many people who give up meat and milk and adopt the above, have slowly brought their bodies under cholesterol-control.
